We’re looking forward to taking you on a day of adventure to Katmai National Park. You can expect a full-day tour departing around 6:45am from Anchorage and returning between 5pm and 6pm. Our pilots will take you on a hour and 45 minutes to two hour float plane flight to Brooks Falls, or a twin-engine plane to King Salmon with a transfer to Brooks Falls on float plane. Upon arrival, you will have around 4-5 hours on the ground watch the majestic Katmai brown bear in the park. While at Brooks Falls, the friendly National Park Service rangers will gladly answer all of your questions about the incredible Katmai National Park and Preserve. Lunch will be provided between 11:30am and 1:30pm at the Brooks Lodge. Finally, we will return to Anchorage and arrive between 5pm and 6pm.

Around 6:45am - Depart Anchorage & Float Plane Flight to Brooks Camp
Your journey begins at Lake Hood in Anchorage where you will board one of our float planes and take an hour and 45 minute flight to Brooks Falls. Along the way, you will see spectacular sights such as the Mt Spurr, Mt Redoubt, Mt Iliamna, and Mt Augustine Volcano. Keep an eye out for the majestic Beluga Whale in the waters of Cook Inlet below. Once approaching Katmai, you’ll see one of the many beautiful watersheds which are the head waters to Bristol Bay including the Alagnak Wild River drainage. Below, you’ll find an abundance of wildlife and salmon.

Around 9:30am - Water Arrival at Brooks Camp
Fly Katmai will arrange for flights to Brooks Camp on our comfortable float plane, or our fast twin-engine plane with a transfer in King Salmon. Once you have arrived at Brooks Camp, a park ranger will provide a brief orientation to instruct you on proper (and safe) bear country etiquette. You will now have the opportunity to visit the world famous Brooks Falls. While viewing brown bears feed, the friendly National Park Service rangers will gladly answer all of your questions about this incredible park. You will have a chance to see bears from several viewing platforms walking on the same trails as you, or even from the front porch of the Brooks Lodge while getting a snack.
Between 11:30am and 1:30pm - Lunch
Lunch is provided at the Brooks Lodge between 11:30am and 1:30pm. If you prefer to skip lunch in favor of more bear viewing, we advise you bring a snack or pack your own lunch. Don’t feed the bears!
Around 3-3:30pm - Departure from Brooks Camp
Around 3pm-3:30pm, we will begin our flight back to Anchorage. Along the way, you’ll see additional sights on the hour and 45 minute flight. You will arrive back in Anchorage between 5pm and 6pm.

No, Anchorage Aero/Fly Katmai does not provide hotel shuttle services or pick-up. Visitors must arrange their own transportation for their group. We are located at Lake Hood (Seaplane base) next to Ted Stevens International Airport, less than 5 minutes' drive, or 10-15 minutes walking distance from the airport.

Full payment is due at the time of your reservation and your trip is not confirmed until full payment is received.
We will try to be flexible in the event of a cancellation. If there is a cancellation of your trip due to weather, you will be refunded 100% of your payment.
For cancellation reasons outside of weather or equipment, our cancellation policy is as follows:
- From time of booking and at least 90 days or more before your planned trip, 90% refund.
- 14 - 89 days before your planned trip, 50% refund.
- Within 14 days of your planned trip, no refund.
We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance for full coverage.
